What Affects the Price of a Custom Window?

Custom window pricing is not fixed; several factors determine the final cost, and understanding them helps you plan before the estimate.

• Style — fixed picture windows are typically the most affordable per unit. Operable styles (casement, awning, hung) incur additional hardware costs. Shaped and architectural windows are the most expensive due to the custom frame manufacturing process.
• Size — larger windows use more material and heavier glass. Very large glass panels (beyond standard tempered glass sizes) require special fabrication and significantly affect the price.
• Glass package — double pane with LoE-272 is the standard. Triple pane, upgraded LoE coatings (LoE-366, LoE-i89), laminated glass, and specialty finishes (frosted, tinted, self-cleaning) each add to the cost.
• Configuration — a single window in one style is the base price. Combined units (fixed + casement, picture + awning) and multiple transoms increase cost accordingly.
