Project Description

Converting a sliding patio door into a single door with sidelites is an excellent way to elevate both the look and functionality of your home. In this project, we expanded the existing 60" × 80" sliding door opening into a much larger 97" × 90" configuration. To achieve this, we cut the brick to the side and upward, installed a new metal lintel and wooden header for proper structural support, and added a concrete sill. We also did the framing and all interior and exterior finishing to complete the job.

The new black single door with direct-set glass sidelites dramatically opens up the view, brings in more natural light, and gives the home a modern, elegant appearance.
